Job Summary
The Information Systems Administrator is responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical systems. Serves as a technical expert in the area of systems administration for local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), server monitoring, server management, firewall management, security management, and account management. Identifies methods, solutions, and provides project leadership and management in order to provide a high level of service to all staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Information Systems or related field – Preferred.
- 3+ years successful experience in VMWare, Windows Server, SQL Server, Databases, Exchange Server, Active Directory and Network Administration and Management – Required
- 6+ years successful experience with Systems Administration – Required
- Required knowledge of:
- VMWare Infrasturcture
- Windows OS Server
- Exchange Server
- SQL Server and SQL Maintenance
- Network Management of LAN and WAN
- SAN Storage Appliances Monitoring and Support
- Firewall Management and Support
- Active Directory and Group Policies
- Backup Management and Recovery

Responsibilities
- Administer and oversee deployment and maintenance of servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, laptops, software deployment, security updates and patches.
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the host computers by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair.
- Ensures that records of system downtime and equipment inventory are properly maintained.
- Installs new software releases and system upgrades
- Ensure network connectivity throughout the hospital LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations.
- Implement, manage, and troubleshoot group policies, active directory, certificate services, and DNS
- Maintain and manage VMware Infrastructure.
- Troubleshoots hardware and software systems and maximizes systems performances.
- Make recommendations for future upgrades.
- Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security.
- Performs system backups and recovery
- Install, secure, maintain, troubleshoot, administer and upgrade Microsoft Windows Server operating systems on all servers.
- Identifies and assists in the education of staff regarding IT devices and software applications.
- Consistently offers direction and assistance to others in a courteous manner.
- Demonstrates accountability for own actions.
- Ensures compliance with all organizational policies, and ensures patient confidentiality at all times.
- Demonstrates abilities as a mentor/coach by assessing needs, planning, implementing and evaluating learning and performance of team members as end users of the Electronic Health Record documentation system.
- Continuously improves knowledge and skills through active participation in continuing education and training opportunities.
- Unscheduled absences and tardiness do not exceed the organizational guidelines.
- Accepts reassignment and additional duties, when necessary, in a flexible and positive manner.
- Comply with facility Standards of Behavior and complete all required education assignments within the designated timeline.
